The Process of a Breitling Service

We can provide a full watch service for almost any model of Breitling. All work is carried out by a highly skilled watchmaker at our specialist Liverpool workshop which has been built to maintain a high level of cleanliness.

Our Breitling watch service features several steps as part of the thorough process. We will book your watch into our system and will check for any scratches or marks. We will perform a test of the watch functions and place the movement of the watch in sealed storage. We will replace the watch seals with an in-stock replacement or by placing an order with a reputable supplier. The watch is carefully dismantled with all parts checked for wear while an ultrasonic cleaning machine is used to clean the watch. Before carrying out additional work, we will contact you and confirm if further costs are required. We will carefully rebuild the movement and reassemble the watch with regular testing. We will check for water resistance and set the correct time and date. Your watch is now set for another 3-5 years.

The History of Breitling Watches

Breitling was founded in 1884 in Saint-Imier by Swiss watchmaker Leon Breitling. Leon was known for crafting timepieces and measuring tools, and it wasn’t long until he earned a reputation for himself and his company. Breitling’s priority was to develop innovative chronographs, and in 1889, he was awarded a patent for a simple and sleek model.

With more employees joining Breitling to work at a new larger factory, the brand was well-equipped to craft precise and unique timepieces. In 1896, the company produced a chronograph with an accuracy of two-fifths of a second. A simple tachymeter was patented 9 years later, which allowed measurements between 15-150 km/h. Not only did this allow drivers to calculate their speeds, but it also led to the first speeding tickets in Switzerland!

Following Leon’s death in 1914, his son took over the company and launched one of the first-ever wrist chronographs with a separate push-piece above the crown. Breitling released the Navitimer in 1952, a model that would become popular with pilots. Today, owned by CVC Capital Partners, Breitling continues to be an industry leader in manufacturing a range of high-end watches.
